Until now, the discussion has mostly focused upon physical or visible signs of abuse. However, there are other emotional and behavioral signs of possible abuse.
It is important to note here that these signs could represent a change in a vulnerable adult's medical condition or medication. However, other indications are less obvious. As with any sign or symptom, you will need to ask questions to gather enough information to determine whether or not you believe abuse has occurred. There is not always a clear cause and effect that indicates you can assume abuse has occurred.
